Protect your privacy to the maximum with these tips

Privacy is one of the most important aspects of today. In the digital world there is more and more talk about the importance of data privacy. And it is that your personal information and your daily habits are a very coveted material by third parties. Especially to be commercially exploited by companies.

And that is a huge problem. Hence, the big companies and current legislation, seek to defend that your information is confidential. Even so, despite the interest of governments and large corporations to improve the security of our data, it is worth learning some tricks to keep that information safe. Your Android device is precisely one of those terminals that collect more data.

On this occasion, we will give you a series of tips so that all the management you do on your smarpthone or tablet is well protected. Tips that you surely don’t know how to apply. Once you learn them, be sure that you will deeply value their usefulness.

Configure your mobile lock

Perhaps one of the best known tips in the world. But it is worth remembering. Remember that you can lock your phone with a pattern or a PIN, that is, a number. It is even advisable to use both options, since an unlock pattern can be easy to unlock. To achieve this, you must go to the Settings menu and then to Security options. Once inside this option, you just have to click on Security and location. There you will choose the options to set the pattern or PIN.

And if your mobile is of the latest generation, surely you have the option to block it with a fingerprint. So you will significantly increase security, since it will be practically impossible for someone to access the content of your device.

Control the permissions of your applications

When you download an application, it asks you for a series of permissions to use it. You authorize the company that owns the application that accesses this information. These permissions that you authorize are usually related to your calendar, contacts, microphone or image gallery, among others.

What many do not know is that you can enable or disable such permissions. To do this, you must go to the Applications option. From there, you should go to the Advanced section. And then to Applications Permissions.

Once there, the list of permissions that you can configure from your mobile phone appears. So the next time you go to download an app, if it requires you permission on something you don’t want to share, the app will not download. Or, it will be downloaded but you will not have access to that permission when it comes to obtaining information.

Limit the GPS

Another of the Android privacy tips is to limit the location of your device. That is nothing more than allowing applications to use your GPS to locate your location. In fact, this is one of the options most used by people, so as not to be revealing their current position at all times. To configure this option, you have to go to the Settings section and then click on Security and Location.

Within this section, there is the option of Privacy->Location. Once there you can disable the GPS activity option. From there you can find information about the apps that have consulted your location.

Google Services

Another way to configure your privacy is related to the Google services. You can access this option by locating the address “myactivity.google.com” in the browser. Once there you can manually delete the activity you have done recently.

From this option you can regulate what aspects you want Google to continue collecting about you. If you want to manage this, you must press the menu button, which is the three horizontal stripes. From there, you go to Activity controls in your account. And for example you can decide if you don’t want Google to save data about your browsing history, etc.

Disable the device location option

Google generally knows where your device is located. This is an option that is available to locate your mobile in case of loss, but it can also be an option that you are not interested in keeping active.

In order to disable this feature you must go to the Security and location option. Then you go to the Find my device option. Everything else will disable this functionality. It is up to you if it is worth disabling this option. Remember: in case of loss you will not have this coverage.

Encrypt the phone and other settings

This is one of the most important privacy tips for Android. It is important to check, because this way your data is more than armored. To do this, you must go to the Security and location option. Then click on Advanced and click on Encryption and Credentials.

Once there you can check if your Android phone is encrypted. Right here you can see certain adjustments regarding the usage statistics for the manufacturer. They are data related to the device’s assistance, which later serve Google to improve the operating system.

You are free to allow Google to keep this information
